Job Summary
A Senior Application Engineer is a critical member of the account teams that support our most valuable and sophisticated Hyperscale and Colocation Datacenter Customers. Senior AE will utilize technical skills, business acumen and product knowledge to understand the cooling needs of our customers and prepare ratings, selections, submittals, sales quotations and educational content for our customers. An expert in Coolant Distribution Units (CDU), Computer Room Air Handlers (CRAH), Direct Evaporative Cooling Units (DEC), Rear Door Heat Exchangers (RDHX) and Coil Wall Units, the Senior AE reviews specifications, performs CDE reviews, generates sales quotations, creates submittals and supports technical enquiries from customers, consulting engineers and design-build contractors. Senior AE is the critical communication link between customers, account executives, various engineering teams, test labs and supplier's engineers.

Strong background in HVAC systems and components
Strong Mutli-tasking skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Position Responsibilities: Produce technical submittals & proposals for multiple product lines of HVAC Equipment and Systems.
Assist in research and development to support product development and lead New Product Development where our customers are going.
Assist sales staff in assessing potential applications of company products to meet other customer needs.
Responsible for creation and accuracy of project BOM, quotes, FAQs and Submittals.
Provide technical support to internal and external customers.
Provide quotation to customers by preparing accurate pricing for a project after reading/reviewing specifications and gathering correct documents.
Gather engineering data as it pertains to a specific product.
Review engineering drawings, analyze design, and retrieve information to complete drawings, layout, or design.
Perform the duties as resident expert in specific in-house engineering design and selection software programs. Learn and interact with Nortek Air Solutions manufacturing software programs for input of job data and monitor equipment in production.
Position Qualifications
Requirements: Minimum 5 years of experience in Application Engineering or similar role.
BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or significant amount of relevant field experience.
Problem-solving and analytical skills to interpret sales performance and market trends.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate technically, both internally with various departments and externally with customers.
Solid organization skills and strong multi-tasking abilities in a timeline driven environment.
Independent analysis and judgment skills in using prior experience and knowledge of company policies and procedures to resolve non-standard problems.
Strong computer skills in: Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD / 3D Application
Experienced in blueprint and technical document review with ability to understand and read technical details from prints, drawings, and other documents.
Preferred: 10 years of experience in Commercial / Industrial HVAC Application Engineering
Advanced Degrees in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering
Knowledge of the various cooling architectures used in the Datacenter Vertical
Prior experience with CRAH, CDU, Fan Walls, Direct Evaporative Cooling Units and Economization strategies
Prior experience of being part of teams supporting Hyperscalers and global colocation customers
Experience with Direct Evaporative Cooling Designs.
Recognized industry expert in HVAC and participant in thought leadership events
