About The Role
We are looking for a Task Force Chief Engineer to lead our maintenance and groundskeeping team during a 2 to 3 month period. The Chief Engineer is responsible for the operation, repair and maintenance of all machinery and equipment of the property. You will oversee all aspects of the Engineering department, including the proper operation maintenance and repair of all HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, irrigation, life safety, electrical and mechanical equipment/systems. You will supervise, train, and manage all maintenance and groundskeeping staff. This is anticipated to be a 2 to 3 month long temporary position. Essential Duties
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents. Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, and standards for the hotel. Ability to ensure compliance with all relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations. A working ability with HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry. Ability to delegate tasks to the appropriate employees, as well as communicate clearly and effectively to employees and management. Ability to lift to 50 pounds or more throughout the property with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects. Ability to walk, including climbing stairs, ladders, stand to a significant degree, kneel, reach, bend, handle machinery, lift, feel, talk, hear, and see.
Specific Requirements Of This Role
Develop, coordinate, and monitor all guest rooms and public spaces, equipment, and Preventative Maintenance programs to ensure the reliability, safety, and comfort of all staff and guests. Install and maintain eyewash stations, emergency evacuation floor plans in departments, and fire, life, safety detection/alarm device testing program. Implement OSHA and ADA programs to ensure compliance. Monitor departmental, payroll, and supply expenses in accordance with budgetary goals. Consistently monitor the performance of employees on an on-going basis and provide feedback. Stay current with the latest engineering technologies and best practices. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of engineering, principles, and practices. Experienced with budgeting and project management. Previous engineer/maintenance experience required or equivalent training. Fire Safety Management Experienced Certificate of Qualification for Refrigeration System Operating, preferred. Comprehensive knowledge of elevator operations, maintenance, and inspections.
