Overview Sr. Project Engineer - Controls, Automation and Digital - Onsite Yorkville, IL, Burr Ridge, IL, Topeka, KS, Hackettstown, NJ or Waco, TX — 2 Opportunities Available. This Regional Project Engineering Role will be part of the MarsWrigley North America Controls, Automation, and Digital engineering team. The individual will be responsible for planning and executing projects from ideation to project closure, potentially leading and/or supporting large capital projects in electrical, controls, Factory IT, physical automation, and Digital Plant Technology systems depending on business needs. The role owns the overall leadership of controls, automation, and digital projects via the MarsWrigley Engineering Execution Standard. This role will be based out of one of the specified sites. What are we looking for? Minimum A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering. 8-10+ years of experience in a comparable technical position in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or related industry (preferred). Basic understanding of engineering principles and knowledge of the disciplines: Process, Packaging, Electrical, Controls, Automation, Construction and/or Computer Services. 20% to 50% travel requirement depending on project demands. Preferred A Bachelor's degree in Controls/Electrical/Electronics, including courses in Computer Science. Advanced degree in Engineering. MBA or PMP certification. 10+ years of experience in a comparable technical position in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or related industry (preferred). In-depth understanding of designated functional engineering area of expertise (e.g., controls, process, packaging). What will be your key responsibilities? Develop control systems for automating manufacturing processes and packaging systems. Deliver projects to the business that provide a competitive advantage. Control systems design, including developing control concepts and functional/equipment specifications. Direct modifications, installation, and integration of systems in electrical and power distribution, control systems, Factory IT (servers, networks, Wi-Fi, etc.), physical automation, and Digital Plant Technology systems. Ensure delivery of assigned objectives for scope, time, budget, and cash flow. Maintain project adherence to scope, deliverables, and critical success factors. Communicate with the project steering team to ensure project objectives are achieved. Seek and apply appropriate technologies to gain and sustain technical competitive advantage. Understand and make decisions to improve business metrics (e.g., ROTA, FATR, EP). Design systems and select hardware, or direct third-party engineering and/or system integrator firms; provide design services to meet contract deliverables. Actively participate in developing engineering standards and tools. Support safety, security, and environmental policies. Maximize asset utilization through value-added engineering and lean design.
