We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer to join our System Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) team to provide guidance and support for Engineering Facilitation Support Services. The Senior Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring program success by providing expert-level engineering guidance and support across the systems engineering lifecycle. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of mission-level thinking, technical integration, and systematic development approaches for developing, migrating, and/or integrating on-prem, cloud, and hybrid systems.

*** This position requires the candidate to hold a TS Clearance and work on-site at Ft Meade, MD or in Stafford, VA. ***

  • Responsibilities:
  • Assist Government Chief Engineers, Product Managers, and product owners by providing expert support to the overall systems engineering process.
  • Deliver engineering tasks including integration support, configuration management, and interface management.
  • Apply mission-level thinking to address current and emerging operational and system capabilities.
  • Organize technical resources, activities, and artifacts through a systematic approach covering both hardware and software domains.
  • Leverage scientific, engineering, and specialty engineering principles to analyze alternatives and incorporate design features that meet stakeholder requirements.
  • Translate stakeholder needs and expectations into technical statements and thoroughly assess requirements.
  • Utilize systematic methods and technical skills to design and guide development processes from concept through delivery.
  • Apply production, quality, and manufacturing methods for effective conversion of designs into products.
  • Employ digital approaches-including modeling and simulations-to support engineering activities throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
  • Integrate system security engineering principles in all phases of design and development.
  • Provide expert guidance in the use of iterative software development methodologies and tools for system design, delivery, and utilization.
  • Support organizational enablement in delivering information systems in numerous technical areas including Enterprise Architecture, System Architecture, Data, AI/ML, Cloud Infrastructure, Networking, Agile, Operations, Sustainment, Testing, Configuration Management and other areas needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience, with experience in systems engineering and architectural activities for complex mission essential systems with demonstrated expertise in technical leadership roles.
  • Proven experience with integration support, testing, configuration management, and interface management.
  • Strong understanding of both hardware and software development processes and lifecycle management, including multi-cloud environments.
  • Experience with modeling, simulation, and digital engineering tools.
  • Solid grasp of system security engineering principles and practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex stakeholder requirements into actionable technical solutions.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, writing and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with iterative and agile software development methodologies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of DoD cyber policies, RMF, NIST, FEDRAMP, ATO and other policies and guidelines
  • Must be highly flexible and able to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders with rapidly evolving requirements.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting DCSA or other large DoD defense engineering projects.
  • Certifications in systems engineering (e.g., INCOSE, CSEP), cloud engineering/architecture, or security engineering.
  • Advanced skills in digital engineering platforms and model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
