About the Role: As a Senior Engineer on the WarpStream team, you will engage in the complete development lifecycle of our Apache Kafka-compatible data streaming platform, which operates directly atop object storage without local disks. From enhancing the storage engine and optimizing our multi-tenant control plane, to implementing vital features such as transactions and multi-region clusters, your expertise will drive our success. You might even develop user interfaces using HTML and JavaScript for our developer console. This small but dynamic team, operating asynchronously across various regions including Spain, France, Canada, Ireland, and the USA, tackles complex distributed system challenges at scale. Your Responsibilities Include: Leading complex technical projects from inception to completion. Designing and building high-performance backend services that provide substantial value to customers. Troubleshooting and debugging issues within a sophisticated tech stack that includes microservices and containers. Ensuring services meet operational readiness and uphold performance service-level agreements (SLAs). What You Bring to the Table: Over a decade of industry experience in designing and managing scalable backend systems with quality-focused software engineering practices. Strong programming abilities in languages such as Java, Go, C/C++, or Python. A passion for distributed and storage systems. Excellent project delivery skills and effective communication. Experience in driving operational efficiency for extensive production services. A deep commitment to customer-centricity, teamwork, and mentorship.
