This role is part of the Air Force National Capital Region IT Services Program (AFNCR ITS), where you will be responsible for assessing systems, identifying issues, providing effective solutions, designing upgrades, and maintaining network systems while proposing future enhancements. This position is 100% onsite at Joint Base Andrews, MD and requires an active Secret clearance to start. The AFNCR IT Services program supports the information systems of the Headquarters Air Force (HAF), Air Force District of Washington (AFDW), Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Joint Chiefs of Staff, and other Air Force activities. The program encompasses critical locations including the Pentagon and Joint Base Andrews (JBA), amongst others. Ready to make an impact? We would love to see your resume! Key Responsibilities: Monitor infrastructure network systems for messages, alarms, or irregularities. Diagnose issues and execute appropriate resolutions; escalate when necessary. Troubleshoot using standard scripts and procedures; escalate as appropriate. Take initiative in resolving issues for enterprise-level routers and switches. Collaborate with vendors for efficient resolution during network outages or performance drops. Manage Authorized Service Interruptions (ASI's) as directed by management. Maintain security compliance on all network equipment following DoD and local command regulations, including updates and security upgrades. Support special projects and daily operations as assigned by the site lead. Participate in the on-call rotation schedule. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience; additional experience may substitute for a degree. Must currently hold an Active DoD Secret security clearance. Possess an active CompTIA Security+ or CCNP Security certification. Have an active CCNA Certification. Demonstrated expertise in LAN switching, Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs), VLAN Trunk Protocol (VTP), Port Security, and Layer 2 and 3 switching configurations. Strong knowledge of Layer 3 routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, IS-IS) and their implementation best practices. Extensive experience in L1/L2 network troubleshooting for both Unclassified and Classified networks. In-depth understanding of DoD network and application security hardening requirements. Experience programming, maintaining, and troubleshooting encryption devices at network points of presence, including using DoD management tools. Familiarity with DoD COMSEC management processes and procedures. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Cisco ISE and Cisco DNA. Knowledge of Air Force protocols, particularly related to the Pentagon and AFNCR. Experience working at facilities such as the Pentagon, Joint Base Andrews (JBA), or Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB).
