Department Overview: Reporting to a Sr. Manager, we are looking for someone who has an interest in board and system modification, integration, and validation, but a passion for getting things done. Work with a team of 10+ Engineers, you will be modifying boards and systems, integrating, and validating HW platforms for current and next-generation products. This is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in all phases of the HW development cycle to support new product launches and feature development for our products. Responsibilities: While this is an individual contributor role, you will be involved in many aspects – modifying multi-layer boards with fine-pitch components, rack-mount systems with metallic parts, integrating hardware systems, setup, configuration, bring-up, and validation of hardware systems, measuring power, high-speed differential signals with oscilloscopes and meters, working with teams to improve product quality, production, and implementing engineering changes for existing products. You will work alongside a team of experienced software, hardware, and ASIC developers, gaining broad experience with complex and innovative technology. Job Experience Required: Must have 10+ years of experience in complex board and system modifications with a high success rate. Excellent skills in modifying complex multi-layer PCBs with fine-pitch components and metallic parts for rack-mount hardware systems. Experience in measuring eye diagrams of high-speed differential signals using oscilloscopes. Ability to measure waveforms of high-speed single-ended signals with oscilloscopes. Experience in measuring voltage and current of power signals with meters and oscilloscopes. System setup, configuration, bring-up, and validation in Windows and Linux environments. Investigation of production issues and implementation of engineering changes. Procurement of electrical components, chips, tools, and mechanical parts. Familiarity with AC and DC power sources. Ability to read schematics and familiarity with schematic capture and layout tools, preferably Orcad and Allegro. Experience programming flash, CPLD, and FPGA; familiarity with Altera and Lattice devices is preferred. Managing external labs and suppliers of parts and modules. Strong debugging and problem-solving skills. Good verbal and written communication skills with cross-functional teams and vendors. Self-motivated, positive attitude, detail-oriented, team player, organized, and responsible. Education Requirement: B.S.E.E. degree required. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $129,000-$158,000.
