Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Quality Engineer to join our team at Pyromation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for testing and evaluating component parts to ensure customer standards are met, as well as follow Pyromation practices. The Quality Engineer will assist in validating process test and capabilities. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Develop physical and functional test methods to ensure specifications are met Write and/or review design verification and validation test plans and reports Assist in part specification and definition of part key characteristics Analyze trial products during development or finished goods Record and analyze the results in order to decide whether to approve or reject specific products Ability to compare the differences between two parts for possible side effects in manufacturing Ability to perform “where used” analysis on component part Ability to understand how a part is used in the process Review part specification to our definition Define or research secondary operations to original component part (e.g. make parts) Develop process validation requirements and equipment qualifications Conduct and/or assist testing outlined in test plans (TP), test methods (TM), and Design of Experiments (DOE) Conduct and/or assist Measurement System Analysis (MSA) Conduct and/or assist Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R) Perform process improvement, control and monitoring on manufacturing processes Develop and implement procedures to provide easy to follow instructions All other related duties as required. Knowledge and Skills Requirement: Posses good comprehension of processes across the entire enterprise and their interrelationships Possess working technical knowledge of Pyromation products and their respective applications Proficient in the use of a personal computer, application of office software packages, including but not limited to e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, Minitab, and Epicor (ERP) software Strong technical written communication and cross-functional interpersonal skills Strong analytical skills Ability to resolve technical issues Ability to understand industry regulations Proficient understanding of blueprints and statistical information Ability to use dimensional measuring equipment Ability to perform mechanical tasks Basic understanding of statistics Basic product, design, and prototyping skills Ability to create, review and coordinate test protocols and reports Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Ability to work well in a fast-paced and challenging environment Ability to work well in a team environment or independently Self-motivated with effective planning, prioritizing, and organizational skill set Action oriented with excellent problem solving and strong attention to detail skills Capable in application of lean tools Possess a positive, flexible and adaptive attitude Possess the willingness to continually learn and develop job related skills Education and Experience Requirements: A two-year degree in quality management, business, or related field preferred A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment Six Sigma Green Belt preferred Traits: Ability to uphold the mission and vision of TASI Measurement.
