Project Engineer – Water/Wastewater
Location: Charlotte, NC (Full-time, relocation available)
Compensation: $120K–$180K base
Reports to: Director of Water Resources

What You'll Do
Design & Engineering

  • Provide technical and design services for water infrastructure projects, including treatment facilities, distribution systems, and wastewater collection/pumping.
  • Conduct preliminary and final engineering evaluations, prepare engineering reports, and create detailed design drawings and technical specifications.
  • Manage permit submittals and regulatory compliance documentation.

Project Delivery

  • Collaborate with project teams to execute multiple assignments concurrently.
  • Own specific tasks from concept through completion within defined timeframes and budget.
  • Participate in QA/QC reviews and client meetings as needed.

Technical Expertise

  • Apply modeling tools for utility design in both water and wastewater systems.
  • Stay up to date on local and state regulations relevant to municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Support the development of sustainable, efficient engineering solutions.

You'd Be a Great Fit If You Have:

  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • NC PE license
  • 3–10 years of experience in municipal water and wastewater design
  • Strong working knowledge of utility modeling tools and civil design standards
  • Demonstrated experience with municipal projects (city, county, or state level)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Self-motivation and excellent time management skills
