Substation Protection and Control Project Engineers, Power for GFT Infrastructure, Inc. to report to our Charlotte, NC loc but may telecommute. Create electrical project design concepts and criteria. Approve electrical design project docs after conformity and QA final review. Work with client and team to prepare electrical project designs per SOW. Make recommendations on project staffing. Analyze complex electrical engineering design problems requiring development of new or improved techniques or procedures. Consult with external construction personnel concerning electrical design constructability. Provide input for proposals and pursuit of new electrical engineering projects. Provide direction to and supervision for Jr-level staff. Communicate with clients. Manage electrical design team integrated with multiple disciplines of 5-10 people. May undergo background checks including drug screening and MV check. Limited travel to client sites for client + contractor meetings and site inspections within Appalachian region (VA, WV, KY, OH) may be involved. Overnight stays not to exceed 5 days/trip and 60 days/yr. Must have bachelor’s in electrical engineering or rel field and 8 years rel exp in substation protection and control or MS in electrical engineering or rel field and 6 years rel exp in substation protection and control. Also reqs the following skills (6 yrs exp) in: AutoCAD, Microstation, SEL-5030, MS Office, and ETAP or Aspen OneLiner. Also reqs PE License.
