Job Title: Senior Network Engineer - Data Centers & Campus LAN Location: Hybrid - 5 Days Onsite Every Other Week -- Spartan Way, Merrimack area, NH OR Westlake area, TX Pay Rate: $70/hr W2 (flexible based on experience) Duration: 6-Month Contract (40 hours/week, occasional weekend work) Employment Type: W2 OnlyOverview The Planet Group is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support a high-impact Network Core and Site Engineering (NCSE) team for one of the world's most respected financial institutions. This role focuses on engineering, deploying, and supporting large-scale campus and data center networks, including LAN, WLAN, WAN, and wireless environments.
You'll work with cutting-edge Cisco technologies in a hybrid network, spanning global campuses and data centers. This is a hands-on role that requires deep troubleshooting skills and the ability to implement new designs in a fast-paced, enterprise environment. Top Must-Have Skills Hands-on experience deploying/operating Cisco Campus Chassis and Stack switches Deep network engineering & troubleshooting skills: Routing Protocols: BGP, OSPF, VRF Switched Protocols: Spanning-Tree, HSRP/VRRP/GLBP Monitoring: SNMP, Syslog, Telemetry
Experience with Cisco Catalyst Center (formerly DNA Center) Experience managing Wireless Controllers and Wireless Access Points Familiarity with Wi-Fi protocols, endpoint authentication (802.1x), and tools Scripting familiarity: Python3, Ansible, REST API Strong understanding of network services like DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SSH What You'll Be Doing Design, engineer, and deploy LAN/WLAN/WAN infrastructure across global sites Implement and maintain fabric networks in campus environments Conduct firmware upgrades, hardware refreshes, and apply hotfixes Troubleshoot high-severity issues related to routing, wireless, or switching Maintain visibility using observability tools and telemetry protocols Participate in an on-call rotation for operational support and escalations Support endpoint authentication, security alignment, and compliance efforts Team Environment You'll join the Network Core and Site Engineering (NCSE) team-responsible for architecture and implementation across the global WAN (campuses, colos, international backbone) and LAN environments. This team leads engineering innovation while ensuring availability, resilience, and performance across all business lines. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field Cisco CCNP or equivalent expertise (strongly preferred) CWNA, ACMA, or other wireless certifications are a plus 5+ years of enterprise network engineering experience Experience supporting high-availability, mission-critical networks in a regulated industry Logistics Interviews: TBD - apply now for quick review Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, occasional weekends, 5 days onsite every other week Background Check Required W2 Candidates Only #LI-CW1 #TECH #Onsite
