We are currently seeking a Network Systems Engineer who is eager to tackle challenging projects and excel in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise and a solid understanding of engineering processes that support large-scale National Defense, Agile software development initiatives. Work Location: This position is based in Colorado, and candidates should be prepared to relocate if applicable. Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and optimize network infrastructure for IaaS platforms and services. Plan, deploy, and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, firewalls, DNS, VLANs, and various IP addressing solutions. Configure, maintain, and patch Layer 2 / Layer 3 switching and routing. Diagnose networking issues across the OSI model using diagnostic tools. Implement network security controls, including monitoring, hardening, threat modeling, and vulnerability mitigation. Support networking in on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments, including AWS and Azure. Configure network protocols and technologies like BGP, Spanning Tree, LLDP, and link aggregation. Assist with storage networking tasks, including SAN and Fibre Channel topologies. Collaborate with systems, virtualization, storage, and platform engineers for integrated solutions. Support both Linux and Windows networking, including firewall configurations in VMware environments. Engage in planning, upgrades, and lifecycle management of infrastructure. Document and maintain network designs, procedures, and change records. Drive automation and consistency in network and infrastructure services. Effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Take ownership of issues until resolution and participate in ongoing improvement initiatives. Perform other related duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications: Active Secret Clearance. 3+ years of professional experience in network engineering or related roles. Solid understanding of network architecture, design, and core networking concepts. Hands-on experience troubleshooting TCP/IP networks across multiple OSI layers. Familiarity with network security principles, monitoring, and threat modeling. Experience in deploying and managing WAN, LAN, VLANs, firewalls, and IP addressing. Proficient in configuring and maintaining L2/L3 switching and routing. Knowledge of Storage Area Networks (SANs) and Fibre Channel networking. Proficient in Linux and Windows operating systems. Familiarity with networking and firewall configurations in Linux/VMware. Detail-oriented strong communication skills. Ability to work in a collaborative team environment. Self-motivated, detail-focused, and results-driven. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field. Experience with Dell networking equipment and solutions. Familiarity with VMware vSphere and vCenter. Security+ certification or equivalent. Experience with NAS/SAN configuration and maintenance. Technical leadership or mentoring experience in infrastructure teams. Experience with automation and scripting languages (Bash, Python, Perl, Ansible, PowerShell). Familiar with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and container platforms. Demonstrated ability to document and manage infrastructure changes efficiently. Application Deadline: March 30, 2026 The proposed salary for this role ranges from $103,100 to $171,800 USD.
