Network Engineer - Defense Health Systems

Join our dedicated team as a Network Engineer focusing on the Defense Health Systems. In this crucial role, you will analyze and develop complex system requirements while designing software tools and subsystems to enhance software reuse and domain analyses. You will also manage software development and support through the use of formal specifications and advanced design techniques. Your responsibilities will include estimating the costs and schedules for software development, refining existing programs, and supervising software configuration management.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical guidance to direct and monitor information systems operations.
Compile records and reports on network operations and maintenance.
Troubleshoot network performance issues effectively.
Analyze network traffic and develop capacity planning solutions.
Monitor and address complex technical issues with hardware and software.
Interface with vendor support groups to manage outages or degraded system performance.
Design and configure products, determining hardware and platform specifications.
Demonstrate understanding of LAN/WAN/Internet networking fundamentals.
Navigate TCP/IP protocols and network connectivity concepts.
Utilize hands-on experience in Windows and Linux connection troubleshooting techniques, including Remedy and SNOW.
Possess knowledge of DNS records and NAT IP address management.
Apply basic networking commands in Linux and Windows environments.
Minimum Qualifications:
5-7 years of systems/network engineering experience.
Experience with healthcare systems.
Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
US Citizen with the ability to secure and maintain an ADP IT-II Public Trust Clearance based on a Tier 3 investigation.
Expertise in network engineering, configuration management, and performance management.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in large-scale enterprise system integration and deployment.
Experience with Cerner EHR implementation.
Familiarity with DOD Configuration Management and Systems Engineering methodologies.
Experience with HL7 and Electronic Health Record testing.
Additional Skills:
Ability to manage and understand customer expectations effectively.
Experience in coordinating with various technical and operational teams to accomplish program and project plans within budget.
Experience assigning tasks to contractor personnel across different time zones and overseeing ongoing technical efforts.
In-depth knowledge and practical experience in implementing, administering, and testing network systems.
Compensation Information:
The compensation range for this position varies based on location, skill set, qualifications, and experience, ranging from $94,100 to $140,000. This role is accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package.
