: Manufacturing Engineer
This is a 12-18 month contract position with the potential to transition into a permanent role. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for designing and modeling parts, creating new drawings, and developing new process plans. The role involves transitioning from traditional machining methods such as lathes and machining centers to an EDM process to find more cost-effective manufacturing solutions. You will be required to create routings and process drawings, determine fixture and tooling requirements, and ensure compliance with engineering drawings before releasing them for manufacturing.
Responsibilities
Design and model parts using Creo parametric.
Create new drawings and develop new process plans.
Transition from traditional machining methods to EDM processes for cost-effective manufacturing.
Develop routings and process drawings for each operation.
Ensure compliance of process drawings and routings with engineering drawings.
Release final process plans to manufacturing.
Essential Skills
Experience as a manufacturing engineer.
Proficiency in process drawings and routings.
Knowledge of CNC, Creo, Pro/E, and Solidworks.
Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Tool selection and machining experience.
BS in Engineering.
3+ years of relevant experience.
CAD experience in 2D and 3D modeling and drafting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Machining experience with lathes, mills, grinders, EDM, and CNC equipment.
Experience with inspection equipment and techniques.
Working knowledge of aluminum and stainless steel machining.
Advanced knowledge of capabilities studies and machine capability.
CNC programming experience.
Heat treatment experience.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
