Location: Loves Park, Illinois
Your mission in the Dart team:
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting production operations through continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, real-time troubleshooting, and documentation management. This role plays a critical part in ensuring product quality, operational efficiency, and successful implementation of engineering changes on the shop floor. The specialist will also serve as a key link between engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams.
Your day-to-day:
Provide hands-on support to production lines for immediate issue resolution and process stabilization. Collaborate with engineers to implement and document Engineering Change Orders (ECOs). Create and maintain accurate work instructions, assembly procedures, and visual aids. Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for production-related nonconformances. Support the setup and validation of new fixtures, tooling, and test stations. Monitor production metrics and identify areas for process improvement. Coordinate and document First Article Inspections (FAIs) and process validations. Assist in preparation and execution of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions. Ensure that documentation is up to date and aligned with system of record (Arena Empower). Your profile: Associate or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred. 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing support or production engineering environment. Experience with electromechanical assembly. Skills & Competencies: Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and basic quality tools (5 Whys, fishbone, Pareto). Strong communication and collaboration skills across functions. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and document control systems. Attention to detail with strong organizational and follow-up abilities.
