Job Title: Environmental Engineer

Location: Birmingham, Alabama

Type: 12 month Contract

Compensation: $36.00 per hour

Contractor Work Model: Hybrid- 40 hours a week at 3 days in-office, 2 days remote, 1-2 weekends a month

Hours: 40.0 hours per week

Responsibilities

• Manage water resources, including hydro operations forecasting, flood control, and drought management
• Develop hydrologic and hydraulic models to support project goals
• Perform watershed modeling to analyze landscape and water flow patterns
• Support gaging systems and maintenance of related equipment
• Manage computer systems and programming efforts to support reservoir management software
• Develop and configure computer models to assist in reservoir operations and planning

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required
• Proficiency in water resource management techniques
• Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
• Knowledge of watershed modeling processes
• Understanding of fluid mechanics principles
• Ability to develop and configure computer models and scripts
• Experience with gaging systems and related equipment
• Skills in data collection, analysis, and dissemination
