Job Title: Control Software EngineerJob Description
The Control Software Engineer will work within the engineering software group designing PLC, SCADA, and Human Machine Interfaces for industrial equipment. This role is integral to developing control systems that are pivotal in the manufacturing process.
Responsibilities
Design and implement PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems for industrial equipment.
Read and interpret schematics, uploading them into HMI systems and coding for PLCs.
Ensure quality checks by observing installations of designed systems on the production floor.
Collaborate with software engineers, electrical engineers, and field service engineering team to optimize system functionality.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
1+ years of experience, including internships or co-op experience.
Proficiency with Siemens (Step 7 Classic and TIA Portal) and Rockwell (RS Logix 5000 and Studio 5000).
Experience with HMI systems such as InTouch, Factory Talk View, and Inductive Automation Ignition.
Knowledge of PLC programming and automation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Preference for candidates with electronics as a hobby.
Experience with electronics and automation.
Work Environment
The role will be based primarily in an office setting adjacent to the production floor, allowing for direct observation of installation for quality checks. The engineer will work alongside three software engineers, four electrical engineers, and regularly interact with the field service engineering team. The company offers a dynamic environment with significant growth, having scheduled equipment installations extending beyond 2028. Additionally, employees benefit from a minimum 15% quarterly bonus based on company performance.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
Company has been growing massively - their equipment melts metals that goes into electronic chips for virtually every industry. They are scheduling installs for new equipment out past the year 2028. They also have been getting a minimum 15% bonus based on company performance every year paid out quarterly. Full health coverage and 2 weeks PTO.
