Weld Process Engineer

Summary
Process engineer associated with weld technology at ACSC. Focus areas include ownership of metallurgical evaluations within our lab, documentation for substantiating new repairs and problem solving weld constraints within both plants. Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines.
Roles and Responsibilities :
Support shop weld priorities to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost
Partner with special process owners in weld to maintain 100% compliance in our weld operations
Own metallurgical evaluations in our lab and partner with SPOs and MAE for review
Support SPOs in implementation of CMT and laser weld technology at the site
Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.
Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may be required to lead a junior team. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Explains technical information to others.
Minimum Requirements :
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and 3+ years of experience in technical process ownership (or a minimum high school diploma / GED with an additional 4+ years of experience in technical process ownership).

Aerospace or manufacturing environment background.
Welding/Aerospace/Manufacturing education background.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
Established project management skills.
