WRA is seeking an experienced Water Resources Engineer to join our Baltimore office. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in water resources engineering, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality projects across both public and private sectors. A Maryland PE license is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the planning, analysis, design, and permitting of water resources projects, including:
    • Stormwater management
    • Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
    • Stream restoration
    • Floodplain studies
    • Erosion and sediment control
  • Prepare engineering plans, reports, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Manage and mentor junior engineering staff and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Conduct field investigations and site assessments.
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and other project stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Assist with proposal development and business development initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited program; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5–10 years of progressive experience in water resources engineering.
  • Active Maryland Professional Engineer (PE) license (or ability to obtain within 6 months, if registered elsewhere).
  • Proficiency in water resources modeling software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, TR-55, and similar.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Maryland environmental regulations and permitting processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

The expected compensation range for this position is $80,000.00 - $140,000.00 annually. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience
