Water Process, Civil, or Environmental Engineer

New Today

Are you an engineer eager to advance the human right to water in California? Is your current work less fulfilling than you hoped for? Then come join us in working with and for communities served by struggling water systems or domestic wells, to contribute to securing safe, affordable water. People in these communities face the cumulative impacts of drinking water disparities, chronic disinvestment, and environmental pollution, and this role requires a familiarity with environmental justice principles and an ability to effectively collaborate across disciplines. Stantec's Water group is looking to hire one or more water engineers to join our team working on Safe and Affordable Funding for Equity and Resilience (SAFER) Drinking Water projects throughout California. The SAFER Drinking Water Program furthers California's effort to achieve the human right to water for the one million Californians who currently lack accessible and safe drinking water.

At Stantec you can apply your passion and collaborate with top talent making an impact for our communities, our clients, and the industry at large. Many of the world's top engineers, scientists, and planners come together in our Water business because we view a community's relationship with water a bit differently-as a single holistic system that includes technical, social, and environmental factors that need to be balanced and strengthened. Our experts guide our work with scientific rigor, an innovative spirit, and a vision for growth. Every day, we help communities improve, reuse, and protect this precious resource. Grow with us, H2O+U.

Your Opportunity

Our Sacramento office is looking for an experienced process, environmental, or civil engineer to work alongside planners, engagement specialists, and others on SAFER drinking water projects. We envision you will adopt a lead role on SAFER projects, which can include well investigations or wellhead treatment, drinking water system consolidation or regionalization, or other drinking water related tasks. You will ideally also work on water, wastewater, and recycled water planning and treatment projects as a member of our broader Water group. You should be able to work independently and as a lead on smaller and larger water infrastructure projects. You will analyze proposed projects to ensure reliability, resource efficiency and cost-effectiveness, and work with Stantec team members throughout the US and be connected to our global expertise.
