Veterinarian (Part-Time Contract)
Concord, New Hampshire (Hybrid - Primarily Remote)
Contract Through: December 31, 2027 (Renewable up to 4 additional years)
Part-time: Approximately 17 hours per month. Hours may increase during outbreaks or public health emergencies. Primarily remote work, with on‑site presence required at Concord, NH. Travel within New Hampshire may be required. 24/7 availability for urgent zoonotic consultations is required.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the State's primary SME for zoonotic diseases.
- Support outbreak investigations and emergency response.
- Provide consultation within 24 hours for high‑priority cases.
- Assist in disease surveillance, monitoring, and trend analysis.
- Develop and review SOPs, response plans, and One Health protocols.
- Provide training and technical guidance to public health and animal health partners.
- Coordinate with state, federal, and local agencies (agriculture, wildlife, public health).
- Support public health communications and media inquiries.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent from an accredited institution.
Licensure
- Active, unrestricted veterinarian license.
- Must be valid for practice in New Hampshire.
Experience
- Experience in zoonotic disease investigations.
- Experience with outbreak response and case management.
- Familiarity with disease surveillance systems.
- Experience working with public health agencies.
- Emergency preparedness and response experience.
- Knowledge of One Health principles.
