U.S. Water Services Corporation is a well-established and diverse water and wastewater utility organization specializing in utility maintenance, operations, engineering and construction services. U.S. Water is a fast paced and rapidly expanding company headquartered in New Port Richey, Florida with a staff of over 850 employees in twenty states.
U.S. Water is looking for an Estimator with experience in underground utilities and Water and Wastewater treatment facilities.
GENERAL FUNCTION: Will prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements. The successful candidate would provide estimating and proposal development for public and private construction projects, including negotiated work, Design-Build, work authorizations, etc. Provide support on the preparation of bid package proposals Provide support to the project managers as needed. Resolves cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information. Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics: Knowledge of Water & Wastewater Distribution & Collection lines, mechanical equipment such as Pumps, Drives, Blowers, Motors and standard construction materials used in the Water and Wastewater facilities and systems. Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools. Knowledge of public safety and security issues and regulations. Ability to communicate effectively to clients, staff, and management both verbally and in writing. Ability to read and interpret mechanical and structural blue prints. Basic to intermediate Computer skills with Excel, MS WORD, CMMS Data bases, MS Project and AutoCAD
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY: Six years of progressively responsible work experience related
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS: A valid Driver's License is required; Ability to obtain appropriate certifications, license, or registration as required by the position within 12 months. Basic to Intermediate computer skills with programs such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, Geographic Information Systems Experience in water and sewer utilities or construction management is preferred. Applicants must work well with others, be socially adapt, and be able to manage multiple responsibilities.
