Tank Integrity Engineer
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Tank Integrity Engineer to ensure regulatory compliance for aboveground storage tanks (ASTs) and provide technical support for their inspection, repair, and construction. This role requires a deep understanding of API standards and regulatory requirements to support safe and efficient tank operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for engineering and technical matters related to aboveground storage tanks.
- Review tank repair scopes, repair drawings, and strappings to ensure compliance with API standards and company guidelines.
- Support tank level alarm settings per API 2350.
- Perform quality control on tank inspection reports and post-modification evaluations.
- Ensure all tank inspections, repairs, and modifications are properly documented and maintained.
- Develop, review, and update tank integrity procedures, standards, and documentation.
- Analyze and summarize tank data and trends for compliance reporting.
- Prepare for internal and regulatory audits (PHMSA, air agencies) and maintain compliance records.
- Maintain the Tank Integrity database and collaborate with Corrosion Prevention, GIS, and other corporate programs.
- Provide oversight for in-service AST inspections per API 653 and STI SP001.
- Troubleshoot engineering issues and provide guidance to construction teams to optimize tank performance.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field.
- 6-10 years of experience in tank construction, maintenance, and integrity management within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong proficiency in API standards (API 650, 653, 2350, 2000; API 510 is a plus).
- Technical writing skills for documentation and reporting.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent team collaboration and communication skills.
Location: Alpharetta, GA Employment Type: 9-10 Month Contract (Potential for Extension) Work Schedule: Monday Friday, 8 AM 5 PM (On-site with occasional flexibility) Hourly Rate: $60 $79.33/hr. (Contract) Additional Details:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen (Sponsorship not available).
- Background check required (7 years) & 10-panel drug screening.
- No remote work except for occasional flexibility in special circumstances.
- No overtime expected.
- Business casual attire required.
