Position Summary
MAG Aerospace is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer with expertise in Radio Frequency engineering to provide technical assessment and support in the areas of RF propagation, RF communications, spectrum management, link budgeting and RF design. The System Engineer will work as part of a systems engineering team, providing RF expertise in a larger system context and will interface with associate contractors as well as customer and other stakeholder personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include, but not limited to:
Leverage your RF Expertise to support and oversee the development and testing of next generation military communication systems, ensuring the delivery of secure and reliable communication capabilities.
Support fundamental testing of tactical radio equipment within integrated networks, with a focus on software defined radios and cyber resiliency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and conduct tests, including feasibility studies, requirements-based testing, and parametric optimization studies
Troubleshoot and investigate difficult problems across RF-related components and provide engineering expertise to support Integrated Product Team (IPT) efforts
Create test reports, out briefs, and status reports to upper management and customers, ensuring timely and effective communication of results and recommendations
RF Test planning, execution and reporting activities for target systems.
Collect data, process and analyst as required.
Plan and conduct technology assessments.
Develop antenna designs and conduct performance analysis.
Develop requirements specifications.
Support the integration, test, and evaluation for RF solutions in differing operational environments and provide recommendations.
Interface and collaborate with customers and other stakeholders.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
US Citizenship
Active TS/SCI security clearance.
Good working knowledge/experience with various types of RF Systems and be proficient in RF Design, diagnostic tools, and understanding of electromagnetic theory. This will include working with various types of antennas, transmitters, and other RF devices.
Demonstrated experience with SDR architecture frameworks such as Redhawk, OpenCPI, and/or X-Midas.
Demonstrates a technical understanding and has hands-on experience in the areas of design, development, integration, and test of RF solutions.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on identifying and resolving complex RF-related issues
Experience conducting technical RF assessments.
Experience with MATLAB or similar filter design
Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrates strong customer and partner relationship building skills.
Successfully work well and collaborate in a team environment.
Experience and Education
A minimum of six (6) years of progressively more complex experience in hardware design, development, and documentation.
Bachelors Degree in a STEM discipline
Four (4) additional years of direct relevant technical experience may be substituted for education.
Clearance
Must have Active TS/SCI
Desired Requirements
Master’s degree preferred
Military experience
Knowledge and experience of military communications systems including modulation and coding techniques, MAC techniques, and routing protocols.
Knowledge and experience with testing EW and resiliency capabilities of DoD RF communications systems.
Experience with SIGINT or ELINT tools and techniques.
15 + years relevant experience.
Other Qualifications
Ability to travel 25%
Ability to work in office , lab and field environments.
