Position Overview We are seeking a highly motivated Systems Engineer Principal to join the SAIC --- PNT Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) Team supporting the U.S. Space Force. In this role, you will deliver engineering, integration, and subject matter expertise for cutting-edge space and ground systems, sustainment, and acquisition initiatives. You'll work in collaboration with government personnel and contractors in a dynamic, mission-focused environment to drive the successful development, operations, and sustainment of PNT capabilities critical to defense.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership as a direct support to the SE&I Operations and Sustainment Lead.
Integrate requirements across space, ground, hardware, and software systems to ensure comprehensive operational capability.
Collaborate with prime contractors and government stakeholders to maintain alignment of system requirements and interfaces.
Assess and visualize system requirements, baselines, and capability insertion activities to optimize the enterprise architecture.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, evaluate impacts of proposed changes, and track technical, schedule, and cost data.
Translate government specifications and interface control documents into actionable hardware and software development and sustainment tasks.
Design, document, and execute evolving systems engineering processes to support enterprise-wide objectives.
Evaluate baseline changes to ensure alignment with operational requirements, sustainability, and future mission capabilities.
Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including briefings, white papers, and reports to inform enterprise-level decision-making.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including contractors, government civilians, and members of the U.S. Air Force and Space Force.
Participate in Integrated Product Teams, sustainment reviews, and other key programmatic activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 7+ years of experience.
Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance.
Familiarity with GPS systems and U.S. Space Force operations.
Experience with GPS OCX development and sustainment.
Demonstrated expertise in operations, sustainment, or acquisitions of space systems, particularly with Air Force/Space Force/DoD customers.
Proven experience in authoring and presenting technical documentation and analyses.
Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills with a track record of prioritizing tasks in a dynamic environment.
Interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
