Systems Engineer
Mt. Joy, IA or New Holland, PA - Full Time
Productive Resources (www.productiveresources.com) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team at our customer's facility in Mt. Joy, IA or New Holland, PA. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will be a Systems Engineer with 3+ years of experience supporting complex engineering projects, ideally in embedded systems or related industries. The successful candidate will help define system requirements, develop architectures, coordinate cross-disciplinary integration, and validate system performance to meet client needs. This is a hands-on role requiring collaboration across software, hardware, and product teams to deliver robust, high-quality systems.
Duties:
- Elicit, analyze, and manage system requirements from stakeholders to ensure clarity and completeness.
- Develop and maintain system architectures and design documentation.
- Support integration and testing activities to verify system functionality and performance.
- Coordinate across engineering disciplines (software, hardware, firmware, QA) to align on design and development efforts.
- Perform risk analysis and contribute to mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist in creating test plans and procedures for system validation.
- Participate in design reviews, providing systems-level insight and feedback.
- Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis for system-level issues.
- Maintain traceability between requirements, design, implementation, and testing.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar field.
- Experience working with embedded systems or complex technical products.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with requirements management tools and best practices.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools such as SysML, DOORS, or similar.
- Knowledge of embedded software and hardware development processes.
- Familiarity with verification & validation methodologies.
- Understanding of industry standards and regulations applicable to embedded or safety-critical systems.
- Experience participating in cross-functional Agile teams.
