Systems Engineer (Life Sciences)

Our client, a world leader in diagnostics and life sciences, is seeking a Systems Engineer with expertise in software integration and testing to join R&D team . In this role, you will drive the integration of assays and software into diagnostic systems that meet In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) standards. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to system architecture and design, and ensure quality and regulatory compliance throughout the system development lifecycle.
Duration: Long-term Contract
Location: Tucson, AZ
Rate: $50/hr on W2
Key Responsibilities
Lead software integration and testing phases across the system lifecycle Define and manage software requirements, configurations, and risk assessments Collaborate with R&D, Marketing, Regulatory, Quality, and Operations teams Analyze technical challenges and develop innovative, customer-focused solutions Execute system-level verification and validation activities Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies in diagnostics Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, or related technical field Master's degree with 2+ years of experience or PhD acceptable 4+ years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on software integration/testing Strong knowledge of FDA/ISO regulatory standards and IVD compliance Proven experience with requirements engineering, risk management, and defect tracking Experience with assay development and software reliability/usability principles Familiarity with RETINA, LucidSpark, or LucidChart tools Understanding of software-hardware integration, electro-mechanical systems, and basic chemistry
