Our long-term client relationship with NASA has led to a need for a Systems Engineer – Gateway on the Human Space Flight Technical Integration (HSFTIC) contract at Johnson Space Center (Houston, TX). Responsibilities

The Systems Engineer – Gateway will: Apply systems engineering principles and techniques to establish and perform Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) activities such as requirements management, architectural design, author technical and engineering memos and presentations, and model based systems engineering.

Develop and maintain spacecraft master, power, and thermal equipment lists.

Establish working relationships with NASA leads, requirement owners, and commercial teammates’ key personnel to collaborate on cross-functional initiatives.

Provide technical systems knowledge and expertise during major project milestones and project reviews to support SE&I teams through action resolution.

Incorporate process improvement initiatives that promote the progression of SE&I expertise within a more digitized SE&I environment which incorporates data digitization systems including product life cycle management, requirements management, and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) approaches.

Perform other duties as required. Qualifications

Required Education/Experience/Skills: BS Degree in Engineering from an accredited Engineering school, plus five (5) years of appropriate work experience.

Applied knowledge of product life cycle development, sound systems engineering & integration principles, and strong working knowledge of associated engineering disciplines.

Applied working knowledge of systems engineering practices associated with the definition, design, development, verification, implementation, testing, integration, and validation of complex systems.

Knowledge of systems, tools, or initiatives that promote the digitization of the systems engineering & integration discipline.

Excellent communication skills (in both written and verbal), integration, coordination and presentation skills.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with customers and stakeholders.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint). Preferences: INCOSE Associate System Engineering Professional (ASEP). Master of Science degree in Systems Engineering (MSSE). Knowledge of Space Exploration programs (Gateway, ISS, Orion, etc.). Experience with Magic Draw, Rhapsody or other systems modeling software. Experience with requirements management software (such as DOORS). Experience with data solutions, such as JIRA, BI tools, etc. Experience with innovation or process improvements projects and initiatives. Ability to independently manage multiple tasks concurrently. Essential Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.
