Job Summary: The Sustainability Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining systems, processes, and practices that protect the environment and ensure compliance with applicable North American federal and state regulations, with a focus on waste management and sustainability. This role supports Tranters strategic objectives by developing and maintaining Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) management systems in accordance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and applicable standards, including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
Key Accountabilities:
* Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental laws and regulations and obtain and maintain required permits. * Promote and support initiatives related to energy efficiency, water conservation, and sustainable material usage. * Develop, implement, and maintain systems for waste management, pollution prevention, and renewable energy initiatives. * Lead and support company-wide environmental management and sustainability programs. * Manage hazardous waste programs and conduct environmental audits, reporting, and regulatory submissions. * Drive implementation and maintenance of HSE, quality, and sustainability standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ASME requirements. * Monitor, analyze, and report quality and environmental performance metrics; support continuous improvement initiatives.
Education, Qualifications, and Experience:
* Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline preferred, or high school diploma with equivalent relevant experience. * Must meet U.S. citizenship requirements * Minimum 1 year of experience in Quality Assurance, LEAN, Environmental, or related discipline, in a manufacturing environment. * Demonstrated experience and knowledge of ISO 14001 * Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, Environmental & Sustainability processes, and LEAN Manufacturing. * Project Management experience required. * Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) preferred.
