Job Details: This Supplier Quality Engineering position will have responsibility for review and oversight of Component Qualification Reports of component and sub-assembly suppliers.
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to: Review validation reports and/or first article submissions for new supplied components Assist in coordinating across technical disciplines within the organization, suppliers, joint venture partners and/or OEM partners Coordinate and facilitate the resolution of problems involving the approval of suppliers' components into manufacturing processes Demonstrated ability to implement Mechanical Design/ GD&T into complex parts Demonstrated technical, front-end engagement with electromechanical, machining, sheet metal and/or plastics suppliers Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action Monitor policies, procedures, and standards relating to Supplier Quality Engineering (i.e. metrics, data entry, log parts)
Required Experience: Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Engineering Technology discipline 3+ years of relevant experience, primarily focused on the design, manufacturing, and quality of component parts Competent in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint at a minimum)
Preferred Experiences and Qualities: Basic understanding of statistical tools and their application to manufacturing processes (ie, process capability studies, establishing process control limits, etc) 5+ years of experience working in an ISO regulated manufacturing facility Training and experience in the use of GD&T Understanding of measurement methods Experienced with Oracle Self-starter with a sense of urgency to resolve issues and complete projects Works well with others and is able to coordinate efforts with own and other departments Able to operate independently with limited oversight High attention to detail
Description: The Supplier Quality Engineer coordinates and facilitates the resolution of problems involving the integration of suppliers' products and services into manufacturing processes. The incumbent investigates and analyzes technical issues relating to quality, tooling and supplier manufacturing; provides technical consultation to internal and external suppliers for the selection of manufacturing processes; may review supplier manufacturing performance; may assist in coordinating across technical disciplines with the local organization, suppliers, joint venture partners and/or OEM partners. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action May develop and track project plans Monitors policies procedures and standards relating to Supplier Quality Engineering Metrics Data Entry Logs Parts Professional field of theoretical expertise normally acquired through a relevant baccalaureate college degree or 5 years of equivalent relevant experience.
