Substation Engineer - Lakewood, Colorado
We are actively hiring an Electrical Substation Engineer to support Power Delivery Projects.
Responsibilities
Grow and manage relationships with local clients.
Mentor less experienced staff in substation project execution.
Perform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations including one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project scheduling.
Ensure quality procedures are followed and that the team is resourced in an optimal manner.
Perform QA/QC for deliverables to clients across multiple offices.
Manage all schedule, budget, and quality of assigned projects.
Essential Skills
Substation design and Physical design
One-line diagrams and Three-line diagrams
Experience in 345kV through 500kV substation design
Protection & control
Professional Engineering license (PE)
Experience in 15kV through 345kV physical and electrical substation design
Knowledge of IEEE/ANSI standards
Experience managing 5 or more people on a project team
Experience running projects independently
Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills
Additional Skills & Qualifications
BSEE (BS in Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS in Electrical Engineering Technology) degree from an accredited university, preferably with a power option
Work Environment
Work schedule includes Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in-office, with an initial requirement of five days a week for about a month.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $56.25/hr.
