We are actively looking for a Structural Engineer to join our Long Beach or Costa Mesa office. As part of the Structural Group, the Structural Engineer designs a wide variety of structures such as bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and noise barriers. Ensures structures can withstand the stresses and pressures imposed by use and the environment. Calculates stability, strength, and rigidity and makes sure the right materials are used for each assigned project.

Lead and manage projects, including cost estimates, budgets, scheduling, and documentation preparation, support, and evaluation
Recommend contracting strategies
Provide construction support
Resolve design problems, which may include performing field investigation or inspection
Design detailed plans and structural analysis
Perform finite element static and dynamic structural modeling of structures
Prepare design concepts, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates
Calculate quantity estimates
Coordinate plan details with drafting technicians
Prepare inspection reports as needed
Collaborate closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline (required)
Master’s degree in Structural Engineering (required)
10+ years of industry experience
Professional Engineer licensure in California or ability to obtain via reciprocity within 6 months of hire
Software proficiency: STAAD, SAP, VBridge (all required)
Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation)
Availability and willingness to travel
Successful completion of a pre-employment background check in compliance with NIST 800-171
Legal ability to work in the U.S. (E-Verify required)
Salary Range $122,000 to $149,000 based on experience, education, registration, and qualifications. Applicable for California-based hires.
Working Conditions Primarily office-based with some site visits requiring navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
