Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Stress Engineer to contribute to early conceptual design phases, focusing on structural load paths to meet high-level requirements. The ideal candidate will apply first principles approaches, with a strong understanding of metallic and composite structures.
Responsibilities
- Develop structural load paths for early conceptual designs.
- Execute trade studies to identify weight-efficient design solutions.
- Collaborate within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment, working closely with design, fabrication, assembly, and other key functions.
- Proficiency in Catia V5 and up.
- Experience in stress analysis and structural analysis.
- Knowledge of finite element analysis (FEM) and Femap.
- Familiarity with damage tolerance and Boeing/Boeing Tools.
- Experience with primary structures, metallics, GFEM, and DFEM.
- 3-8 years' experience in aerospace stress analysis
- Experience with conceptual design first principles analysis for primary composite structures.
- Understanding of various composite structures' failure modes and limitations.
- Ability to create, manage, and run Global Finite Element Models (GFEM).
- Experience in creating and executing Detail Finite Element Models (DFEM).
- Ability to create simple working FEMs for conceptual design validation.
The position requires onsite work from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, at our client's facility. This is a commercial program for an aerospace client with a minimum contract duration of 18 months.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $80.00/hr.
