New-Indy Containerboard (NICB) is seeking a Strategic Project Engineer, reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations for New-Indy Containerboard. This individual will be a key player in helping explore and implement solutions for key strategic projects across the mill systems. The individual will be working closely with equipment suppliers, project team and mill personnel to determine the best technical solutions, help drive project completion and ensure project goals are met.
Responsibilities:
High-level Strategy & Planning:
Work with NICB leadership to identify, explore and implement strategic initiatives that are in alignment with company goals.
Stays up to date with the latest technological advancements that can be applied to the pulp and paper industry.
Work with the business process owners to help identify future strategic initiatives.
Drive continuous improvement through technology innovation and process optimization.
Project Management & Development Support Outline: Help drive (plan, monitor and control) projects, with a focus on milestones/deadlines, deliverable, budgets, resources, and key stakeholder relationships with Site and NICB's leadership.
Meet regularly with management and production staff to identify issues and concerns. Identify opportunities and present possible solutions for improved efficiencies with a comprehensive plan including project scope, objectives, milestones, and deliverables
Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
Qualifications
Requirements: BS in Engineering Required
Minimum of 5 years in the Pulp and Paper Industry
This individual must have strong technical skills in the pulp and paper industry.
Data driven
Strong troubleshooting skills
Ability to work well within a team
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Leverage technology with a strong drive for results.
Works well across all levels of the organization.
Work Conditions: Full time position. Emergency call-in availability for 24-hour production environment.
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and other computer components. Be able to lift 40 lbs. unassisted.
Physically able to participate in sessions, presentations, and meetings.
Some travel may be required - up to 40% but could vary depending on project location.
Pay Transparency: The starting annual salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $130,000 annually.
