Stationary Engineer Swing Shift Position The Stationary Engineer assists in performing preventative maintenance and emergency repairs for the Heating Plant 3 automatically fired, high pressure boilers and 2 Centrifugal chillers which produce steam/chilled water for heat/cooling. He/she also assists in the preparation of the boilers/chillers for an annual inspections cleaning, and maintains accurate and timely technical records of repairs, including tolerances, clearances, and parts. He/she is also responsible for operating boilers/centrifugal chillers on a fill in basis as assigned and as a part of the regular work schedule.

Job Duties Repairs and maintains power plant equipment using hand and power tools. Assists with energizing and securing power distribution systems, including steam, natural gas, diesel and complies with lockout/tagout procedures. (55%) Assists with boiler/chiller outage work including cleaning and refractory repairs. (10%) Operates boilers/chillers on an as needed basis as assigned. (15%) Required to follow all safety policies and procedures, maintains strict attention to detail when working on job sites; recognize safety hazards and propose methods to correct/eliminate them. Escort vendors onsite to perform routine preventative maintenance or repairs as needed. Ability to work rotating shifts and respond within 45 minutes to after-hours emergency maintenance requests as needed; shifts: 6:30 am - 2:30 pm; 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm; 10:30 pm - 6:30 am Must be available to respond to be afterhours calls and emergency events. Required Qualifications High School or Equivalency Diploma 2 years of previous plant experience preferred but not necessary. Must have the ability to successfully complete all required training within a 6 month probationary period. Must have the ability to successfully all required training.
