Meet Your Future NeighborsAt Nextdoor, the Monetization Engineering organization is responsible for building AI-native proprietary Ads platforms and subscriptions products for local businesses worldwide while delivering relevant sponsored content and providing utility to neighbors.
We are seeking a technical leader to design systems and develop technology to execute on our ads platform roadmap. The technical lead will be responsible for building products with engineers across monetization org and report to Head of Engineering, Monetization at Nextdoor.
The Impact You'll Make
As part of the Monetization Engineering team, you will be playing a crucial role in defining, architecting, and building the systems and features that enable a neighbor to receive the relevant sponsored content, and advertisers, to get the value for their ad spends.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Design, implement and maintain our ads platform, including campaign management, adserving and sponsored content platform
- Enhance the scalability, reliability, cost efficiency, and developer productivity of the platform
- Lead a small group of engineers to develop various components and features
- Coach and mentor other developers in the team
- Bachelors and/or Masters in computer science
- 8+ years of experience in software development or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in the Ads domain
- Familiarity with Machine Learning
- Experience building horizontally scalable, resilient large-scale services
- Experience leading a small team of developers to build systems
- Proficiency with the big data processing technologies like Kafka, Spark, Flink, etc.
- Proficiency with Java and Python
- Experience working with cross-functional teams - Product, Product Marketing, Design
- Eagerness to explore and apply AI and emerging technologies to reimagine how work gets done
Compensation, benefits, perks, and recognition programs at Nextdoor come together to create our total rewards package. Compensation will vary depending on your relevant skills, experience, and qualifications. Compensation may also vary by geography.
The starting salary for this role is expected to range from $190,000 to $240,000 on an annualized basis, or potentially greater in the event that your 'level' of proficiency exceeds the level expected for the role.
We expect to award a meaningful equity grant for this role. With quarterly vesting, your first vest date will take place within 3 months of your start date.
