What to Expect The team seeks a Staff Network Engineer to join the WAN network team, with a focus on supporting the expanding Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) infrastructure. This is a crucial role impacting the organization's connectivity, performance, and security across various locations and cloud environments. The engineer will collaborate with a group of engineers, working with architects, security teams, and business units to provide innovative and reliable network solutions. What You'll Do Lead the design, implementation, and management of SD-WAN solutions, ensuring optimal network performance, reliability, and security Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SD-WAN technologies, providing guidance and expertise to internal teams and stakeholders Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues related to SD-WAN, including connectivity, performance, and configuration problems Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for SD-WAN configurations, processes, and procedures Collaborate with network architects and security teams to integrate SD-WAN with existing network infrastructure Implement and enforce security policies and procedures related to network management and SD-WAN deployments Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for network operations Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in SD-WAN and WAN networking technologies, including carrier's grade MPLS and traffic engineering
What You'll Bring Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience 10+ years of experience in network engineering, with a strong focus on WAN and SD-WAN technologies (e.g., Cisco Viptela, Fortinet, Silver Peak, Juniper/Cisco routing platforms) In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, routing (OSPF, BGP), and switching, class-of-service Experience with firewall technologies (e.g., FortiGate, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA/Firepower) Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues, including VPNs, and perform packet capture and log analysis Experience with transport technologies, DWDM technologies and products Advanced Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNP Enterprise, CCIE Enterprise) or vendor-specific SD-WAN certifications Experience with network automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible) Experience with network monitoring and supporting Government entities and relevant security clearances
