Staff Electrical Engineer - Contract to possible conversion We are seeking an experienced Staff Electrical Engineer to lead the design of hardware that powers our robotic devices. In this role, you will collaborate with embedded and mechanical engineers to develop solutions for complex problems. Prior experience in medical devices or regulated industries is required. Collaborate on PCBA physical layout with Mechanical team. Support processing and sensing requirements with Embedded team. Manage component selection, schematic capture, and board layout using Altium. Develop and maintain assembly test equipment. Perform board reliability assessments and failure diagnostics. Conduct testing and documentation for hardware systems. Provide technical guidance to product and technology teams. Define, manage, and document project goals and timelines. Recommend revisions to meet project needs. Set strategic technical direction for electrical development. Mentor junior engineers and lead engineering teams to success. Qualifications: 8+ years in electronics design. Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering; Master's preferred. Experience with Electrical Medical Equipment (IEC 60601). Proficiency with Altium and product lifecycle tools. Experience with flex circuits, PCB technologies, and layout. Strong knowledge of SPI, I2C, USB, MIPI, Ethernet. Design experience with inductive sensing systems. Familiarity with high-speed sampling, power supplies, motors, and analog/digital conversions. Design for test and fixture creation expertise. Knowledge of EMC, EMI, and ESD hardening techniques.
