The Opportunity: Your Role as a Technical Anchor & Lead Software Engineer

Are you a seasoned software engineer with a passion for leadership, technical excellence, and driving impactful solutions? We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Technical Anchor & Lead Software Engineer to join our team.

This is a unique and pivotal role that blends deep technical expertise with strong leadership. You will be instrumental in guiding and mentoring software engineering teams, driving technical strategy, and architecting robust, scalable software solutions. You'll be involved in the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) – from design and architecture to development, testing, and deployment of critical applications. This is your chance to shape the future of analytics at Ford, working with cutting-edge technologies like Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AI/ML, and leveraging a product-driven operating model to deliver significant business value.

You'll Have… Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline. 8+ years of progressive IT and full-stack development experience, including 5+ years as a Software Engineer with expertise in Python, demonstrating exceptional software engineering knowledge and practices 5+ years of experience with Machine Learning (ML) technologies, frameworks, and concepts. 2+ years of experience as a Lead Software Engineer, specifically leading and guiding other developers. 2+ years of experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS or Azure services relevant to software development and data analytics. 1+ year experience modern front-end frameworks (., Angular or React). Even better, you may have… Proficiency with Git version control. Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs. Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to teach, mentor, and upskill others. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and navigate complex decision-making processes. Experience applying agile practices to solution delivery. Certifications in Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Prior experience in the automotive industry or manufacturing analytics. A portfolio or examples of previous impactful software projects. Experience with DataOps or MLOps practices.
