Description
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITY
The Senior Software Engineer - W (SSE-W) is responsible for full-scale computer systems from inception to implementation. The SSE-W is also responsible for designing, developing, and/or modifying, maintaining, and implementing computer modules, sub-systems, and computer programs in response to user requests and in accordance with development standards and organizational goals.
The SSE-W develops software solutions by studying information needs, systems flow, data usage, and work processes, investigating problem areas, and following the software development lifecycle. This position plans, processes, and performs the technical job efficiently with little or no assistance from the supervisor.
The SSE-W utilizes state-of-the-art technology and stays current with advancements. This position recommends development tools, technology, and creative solutions, and resolves user problems timely and completely. The SSE-W maintains a high degree of confidentiality of sensitive information.
In addition to regularly scheduled hours, this position is subject to working extra time on weekends, holidays, late evenings, and early mornings. Regular full-time attendance is required during normal working hours.
Qualifications
EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent field of study Microsoft Windows Developer Certification and/or SQL Server certifications, preferred Web design and development certification, preferred EXPERIENCE Minimum of 8 years of design and programming experience in C# .NET, SQL, Javascript, REST, HTML, CSS, and Web development environments Minimum of 3 years of system design experience along with exposure to project management Minimum of 3 years of troubleshooting experience SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Experience in project life cycle methodology including documentation requirements System design skills and source control compliance Web programming toolsets such as C#, MVC, Angular, Entity Framework, and related Microsoft Technologies, including Visual Studio Ability to Interpret user requests and system design specifications; Ability to apply programming skills to produce a system that meets the stated requirements Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to accomplish established goals Ability to develop requirements and technical and user-level documentations Displays superior technical, analytical, and troubleshooting skills Excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills with users, vendors, and peers
