Senior Quality Engineer – Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing Location: North Billerica, MA Employment Type: Full-Time | Onsite Travel: Up to 20% Compensation: Up to $130,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
A well-established precision manufacturing company supporting critical aerospace and defense applications is seeking an experienced Senior Quality Engineer to lead quality initiatives, drive compliance, and support cross-functional teams in a fast-paced production environment. This role plays a key part in maintaining industry certifications and exceeding customer expectations. Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain quality procedures, inspection criteria, and documentation Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions using 8D, 5-Why, A3, and other structured methodologies Manage and review First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with AS9102 standards Ensure compliance with AS9100D, ISO9001, and internal quality management systems Analyze process performance using statistical tools and present findings to leadership Support internal, customer, and third-party audits; respond to findings and lead resolution activities Provide training and mentorship to inspection and production personnel Collaborate on PFMEAs, control plans, and continuous improvement initiatives Work directly with suppliers and customers to resolve quality concerns Utilize tools such as IMSXpress, Discus, ProLink SPC, and ERP/MRP systems for reporting and documentation Qualifications: U.S. Citizenship required (due to ITAR and other regulatory requirements) Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field 5–8+ years of experience in a quality engineering role within aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and inspection planning Strong working knowledge of AS9100D, ISO9001; NADCAP familiarity is a plus Experience with structured root cause methodologies and problem-solving tools Willingness to travel up to 20% as required Preferred Background: Hands-on experience in machining, metal forming, welding, or heat treat environments Exposure to Department of Defense manufacturing requirements and customer audits Experience supporting contract reviews, material traceability, and process validations Familiarity with alloy materials including titanium, stainless steel, and other high-performance metals Industry Experience Considered: Aerospace & Defense Precision Manufacturing Medical Device Manufacturing Energy / Gas Turbine / Nuclear Automotive (Tier 1 or OEM) Marine & Shipbuilding Benefits : Use this link bit.ly/4cGUQSh to learn more about benefits available to Eastridge’s temporary employees.From time to time Eastridge’s clients may offer additional benefits to Eastridge employees while on assignment.Information about those benefits will be communicated when applicable.
