In this role, you will have the opportunity to work within the Electrification Distribution Solutions group to provide technical and commercial expertise in order to prepare, negotiate and secure complex projects with our customers through the various ABB sales channels.  This position requires engineering expertise relative to specific offered product lines and systems in order to obtain projects ranging from This role requires technical understanding and application of medium voltage and low voltage switchgear and motor control center, drives, transformers, batteries and UPS systems, eHouse buildings, relay panels and an in-depth knowledge of ANSI standards.

This role would ideally work a hybrid-remote schedule from one of the Electrification Distribution Solutions hub locations (Lake Mary, FL / Mebane, NC / Houston, TX). ABB will also consider remote candidates located in the US.

You will be mainly accountable for: Offering technical advice and solutions on inquiries from customers / channels / Sales Specialists about ABB products/systems/applications. Position ABB as the preferred supplier and long-term partner by working directly with customers to develop a technical and commercial relationship.   Define the customer’s requirements and perform specification influence to develop solutions to secure the highest possible ABB penetration Performing analytic and diagnostic studies to determine the optimal technical solution to meet customer needs and address complex inquiries. Developing and maintaining new sales opportunities and resolving specific customer problems; and ensuring achievement of targets on orders, Net Price Variance (NPV), and Net Promoter Score (NPS). Possesses superior negotiating skills both with customers and with all sub-vendors involved in a complex project in order to achieve both technical and commercial agreement between all parties involved. Ensuring the achievement of budget goals, including volume targets and profitable growth, across all assigned product groups and in the respective countries.

Qualifications for the role: Bachelor Degree in Engineering and minimum of 10 years of experience with ANSI manufactured equipment such as switchgear / motor control centers, transformers and drives. Candidates with significant, relevant experience in lieu of degree will also be considered.

Ability to read and interpret electrical 1-line diagram, possess knowledge in power systems and protection-related matters

Must be able to communicate complex technical subjects to groups of technicians and/or engineers - Excellent technical English writing and verbal skills.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications and general knowledge of AutoCAD for completing basic equipment layouts.

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $92,500 and $171,500 annually and is eligible for a short-term incentive plan/annual bonus.
