A leading manufacturing company is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer to take on a pivotal role in enhancing our automated testing capabilities for powertrain products. The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing, programming, testing, and commissioning complex automated test systems, working closely with both external suppliers and internal teams across engineering disciplines. This full-time position offers an opportunity to join an innovative team dedicated to advancing manufacturing efficiency and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and create 3D models of test setups including racks, panels, and enclosures using CATIA & Auto-CAD. Develop detailed electrical and mechanical test system designs, ensuring interoperability and efficiency. Generate and manage detailed documentation such as 2D drawings, BOMs, and fabrication files for manufacturing. Oversee the sourcing, building, and validation of test equipment, collaborating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery. Collaborate with controls engineers to define station controls, sequence, and failure response strategies.
Must Have Skills:
Proficiency in CATIA and AutoCAD for 3D and 2D design. Experience with National Instruments test platforms (PXI, cDAQ, cRIO) and application software (NI LabVIEW, NI TestStand). Strong understanding of electrical and electronics principles, including schematic design and test equipment usage.
Domain Experience Required:
At least 3-5 years of experience in the development and deployment of automated test equipment in a manufacturing environment. Prior experience with electric vehicle powertrain components is highly desirable.
