/Preferred Qualifications In this exciting role as an HPC Hardware Computer Product Engineer, the successful candidate will be responsible for: Design, and implement HPC server platform for use in high-volume semiconductor fabs with high availability
Select, qualify and integrate components into the final design considering cost v. performance trade-offs.
Develop & implement test plans to assess quality of components used in manufacturing and long-term (15yr +) sustaining support of hardware servers
Understand and work closely with software applications hosted on server platform
Perform SW-HW co-design while minimizing costs
Perform QA testing of computer hardware and validating target software applications
Evaluate effectiveness of existing server designs and recommend essential changes for continuous improvement & field support
Work with third party HW & SW suppliers and system integrators
Own beta installations and support customer field escalations
Qualifications: BS/MS in Computer Engineering or related discipline
5+ years of hands-on experience building computer systems running Linux and VMware
Solid understanding of virtualization concepts
Comprehensive knowledge of computer hardware
Experience deploying TCP/IP networking
System administrator level advanced programming skills using scripting languages such as Bash, Perl, etc.
