Sr. Firmware Development Engineer Job Purpose: The Sr. Firmware Development Engineer will engage in firmware engineering activities for the VES firmware group, supporting cutting-edge data storage and server product designs in Colorado Springs. Reporting to the Firmware Engineering Manager, the candidate will participate in product design, drive firmware requirements, develop firmware for BMC/SES, support field issues, and collaborate with external partners to resolve problems. A successful candidate will have a proven track record of independently completing firmware design documentation, code development, and testing to deliver quality firmware on time. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with hardware and firmware architects on early design input and requirements. Develop and review high-level and low-level design documents. Estimate effort and schedule for firmware tasks. Lead firmware development from design through implementation, testing, integration, and bug resolution to release. Participate in code development and reviews. Provide weekly status updates to management. Support field engineers in debugging and resolving customer issues. Qualifications: BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science. 8+ years of experience in product design and firmware development within a medium or large global organization. Strong knowledge of embedded system design. Preferred experience with BIOS/BMC firmware development. Proficiency with Linux, Windows, Unix, etc. Experience with server/storage system architecture. Preferred testing experience with BMC, BIOS, and SES firmware. Solid hardware/software integration skills. Knowledge of SES, BMC, BIOS testing requirements. Excellent communication skills for interaction with customers and engineering teams. Proficiency in AMI BIOS customization. Experience in system-level debugging, problem determination, and resolution. Compensation: Range: $110,000 - $145,000, based on experience and skills.
