The Principal Engineer (PE) Recruiting Team sits within Amazon’s Executive Staffing Organization. The team hires Principal, Senior Principal, and Distinguished Engineers – the Company's most senior technical contributors. Members of Amazon's Principal Engineering Community are exemplary practitioners and pragmatic visionaries. Our Principal Engineers set the standard for engineering excellence across Amazon. To scale Amazon’s Principal Engineering Community, the PE Recruiting Team is seeking a Research Recruiter passionate about hiring the best engineers worldwide.
The PE Recruiting Team has the ability to work across all Amazon businesses, impacting each senior leadership team. The Recruiter will own and execute Principal Engineer searches, manage relationships with senior executives, and develop robust hiring strategies. Responsibilities include identifying, recruiting, and hiring top technical candidates, with expertise in senior executive technical search, candidate engagement, and sourcing. The team includes Client Leads and Research Recruiters.
Key job responsibilities:
Develop multi-channel search strategies to attract top technical contributors.
Advise Technical and Business Leaders across Amazon, educating them about the external Principal Engineer demographic.
Communicate search status and progress; provide strategic guidance to executive leadership.
Serve as a technology recruiting expert, continuously mapping the market and talent pools.
Develop prospects into candidates, conduct assessments, and present candidates to leadership.
Contribute to the knowledge base with industry and talent insights.
Build and maintain talent networks in technology sectors.
Support client update meetings with relevant market content.
Conduct interviews and prepare candidates for on-site assessments.
Coach leaders to enhance their talent acquisition capabilities at senior levels.
Qualifications for success:
4+ years of progressive recruiting experience, focusing on passive engineering candidates in high-tech markets.
2+ years advising and influencing executive leadership.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
Preferred traits:
Excellent judgment and high standards.
Ability to develop great people and think strategically.
Results-oriented with the ability to inspire passion.
Superior client service skills.
