What to Expect Tesla's Infotainment Team is seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Electronic Design Engineer with a strong background in computer system architecture, schematics design, layout, board bring up and validation, vehicle integration, failure analysis and manufacturing support for Infotainment Systems. This Sr. Electronic Design Engineer, Infotainment will be responsible for designing and developing computer systems and peripheral devices for Tesla vehicles. The ideal candidate will be self-motived, possessing a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles and a passion for developing cutting-edge Infotainment systems.

What You'll Do Design and delivery of Infotainment hardware systems that may include car computer, USB HUB, inductive charger, power supplies, and other support circuitry - from concept to production
Develop and define system architecture for infotainment systems, considering functional requirements, performance, cost, and reliability
Create detailed and accurate schematics for electronic components, ensuring proper functionality and integration with peripheral devices
Design and optimize PCB layouts, considering electrical performance, thermal management, and manufacturing constraints
Conduct board bring-up activities, troubleshooting and resolving any hardware-related issues during initial stages of development
Perform thorough validation of electronic designs through simulations and testing to ensure compliance with functional specifications
Conduct thorough failure analysis in the event of issues, providing detailed reports and recommendations for corrective actions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate Infotainment systems into the vehicles architecture, considering power, harness and inter-communication requirements
What You'll Bring Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, and collaborate with suppliers for component selection and supply change management for high-volume manufacturing
Design experience in x86/ARM based CPU and Microcontroller system with companion components
Experience and knowledge with high-speed serial and memory interfaces including PCIe, USB, DDR, Display Port, HDMI, Ethernet, CSI, and signal integrity design and measurement fundamentals for those interfaces
Experience and knowledge with signaling interfaces including I2C, UART, SPI, JTAG, GPIO, and signal integrity design and measurement fundamentals for those interfaces
Experience and knowledge with power interface protocol, conversion, delivery, and power integrity
Experience with schematic capture and PCB physical design using Cadence Concept and Allegro or similar CAD tools
Familiarity with PCB stack-up, SMT process, In-circuit tests, and manufacturing tests
Hands-on experience on PCBA bring-up, testing, validation, FA, and system (EMI/EMC, vehicle, etc) testing with test equipment (scope, analyzer, etc) by using command line interface and scripting in Linux and Windows OS
FPGA/ASIC engineering design and verification experience is a plus

Expected Compensation$150,560 - $323,280/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
