Role Description The Sr. Desktop Engineer role is an integral part of our growing team. Responsibilities include
Tier 2-3 level support Build and maintain windows 7 and windows 10 images Develop and maintain Windows 10 as a Service Develop automated tools for information gathering and configuration changes to the desktop environment Provide guidance and recommendation for user and machine group policies Maintain distribution points across all sites including vendor sites when necessary Troubleshoot complex application issues within the end user environment Troubleshoot IT issues remotely using remote support software and onsite from desktops, printers, peripherals and network / Wi-Fi Assisting with the implementation of IT strategy Assist with company expansion and network infrastructure Ensuring continuous uptime for computers, and peripherals, and working with vendors to service basic medical equipment Working with vendors to manage network infrastructure Deploying hardware for new employees Keep accurate inventory of all IT related equipment The Sr. Desktop Engineer will report to the IT Help Desk Manager/VP of Operations. What we’re looking for We’re looking for motivated, experienced professionals with: Phenomenal customer service skills Ability to communicate clearly Flexible and positive attitude Passion for technology and using it to solve problems High level of organization, reliability, and independence Orientation toward detail Demonstrated PC skills (MS Office, Google docs) Ability to research emerging technologies and make recommendations that benefit our business Past professional experience in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of data center environments, hosting services, networks, and software as a service (SaaS) Presentation skills (ability to train new hires on basic usage / setup when starting) Ability to write documentation concerning appropriate policies Experience in designing medium to large WAN networks Setup wireless networks within Network design and implementation Qualifications 5 to 10 years of experience in the compute platform discipline include participation on migrations, package deployment, group policies, and all aspects of compute management At least one Microsoft server certification required (MCP, MCTS, MCSA, MSCE) Knowledge all aspects of application and workstation management using SCCM. Solid knowledge of implementing Windows 10 and Windows as a Service Basic code skills in one of the following languages: PowerShell/VBScript/Python Proficiency with Microsoft deployment tools OSD/MDT Educated to Bachelor's or Master's degree level in Computer Science, or a related discipline, from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience. US work authorization A car (work related driving expenses will be reimbursed) Understanding of imaging software a plus VMware experience a plus Why Oak Street?
