Our client is currently seeking a Sr. Controls Hardware Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a Controls Hardware Design Engineer with expertise in PLC, HMI, Drives, Panel Design, System Design, and Robotics . The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Siemens, Mitsubishi, Beckhoff, Allen Bradley, and other PLCs , along with certifications from Siemens .
Qualifications
Option 1: 7+ years in controls hardware design with a 4-year Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics Degree Option 2: 10+ years in controls hardware design with a 2-year electrical/mechanical/technician associate degree Option 3: 15+ years in controls hardware design with secondary education
Technologies & Skills
PLC & HMI – Hardware skills are a priority, software skills are secondary
Siemens (S7, TIA, Safety) – Siemens training certifications required
Mitsubishi (A Series and Q Series), Beckhoff, Allen Bradley (Logix, Guard, Safety)
Other PLCs – Experience with various PLCs is beneficial
Drives (Hardware & Configuration)
Simatic/Sinamics Drives (S120/C120/S210/V90) – Siemens training certifications required
Siemens Simotion and/or Sinumerik – Siemens training certifications required
Rexroth, Fanuc, Allen Bradley (PowerFlex, Kinetix)
Siemens 840D/840Dsi – G/M Code experience required
Panel Design
Component Selection – Breakers, relays, terminals, power supplies, cables
Wiring Diagrams – ACad, Bricks Cad, E-Plan (3D experience is a plus)
480Vac Branch Circuits/Class 2 Circuit Design – NEC 430/240/725/409
Controls Network Design – UL508A, NEC, IEC standards experience
Safety Compliance – Control Reliable, OSHA, NFPA 7E, UL/CE understanding
System Design
RFID (UHF, LF, IFM)
Vision Systems – Keyence, Cognex, Apera, Fanuc
Vision System Lighting
Interlocks & Interconnections
Safety Scanner/Light Screens/Access Doors
Operator Work Path & Ergonomics
Span of Control & System-to-System Interfaces
Robotics
Fanuc Robotics – Training certificates required
Other Manufacturers – Experience with various robotic systems is acceptable
Safety Compliance – Safe working envelopes, safety zones, safe working speeds
