Introduction
We are currently seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to join our structural engineering team in Atlanta, GA . In this key role, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating detailed phases of bridge design and inspection projects independently, while collaborating closely with other engineering disciplines and project management staff. This position involves technical leadership , mentorship , and review responsibilities , along with contributing to proposal development and client-facing technical presentations .
Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field
Professional Engineer (PE) license required
Minimum 7 years of structural/bridge engineering experience
Proven structures management experience
Steel and prestressed concrete bridge design experience required
Experience with AASHTOWare BrR for load rating (preferred)
GDOT experience is a plus
Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and ability to apply engineering best practices effectively
Advanced proficiency in engineering, computational, and modeling software, including:
Revit
AutoCAD
MicroStation
Familiarity with QA/QC procedures and engineering-related business practices and laws
Demonstrated ability and interest in mentoring junior engineering staff
Excellent verbal and written communication skills , adaptable for both technical and general audiences
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Active involvement in a professional engineering society or organization (preferred)
Day-to-Day Responsibilities Lead and independently manage bridge design and analysis projects
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project delivery meets all technical, safety, and regulatory requirements
Conduct and review load ratings and structural evaluations
Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior staff
Perform technical reviews of engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications
Support the preparation of technical proposals and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
Ensure adherence to QA/QC procedures and applicable engineering standards
Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure successful project execution
